The Quality Policy of Arc Drilling, Inc. begins with a stated commitment to continual improvement, in order to better satisfy the needs and expectations of our customers.  This includes a commitment to operate in full compliance with the requirements of applicable accreditations, to provide a framework for establishing and monitoring quality objectives, to continually improving the effectiveness of the Quality Management System, and to delivering defect-free products, on time, every time.

Inspection capability

Arc Drilling’s commitment to continual improvement includes ongoing improvements to inspection capabilities as technology evolves; as such, Arc Drilling inspection capabilities currently include state-of-the-art equipment across all facilities.  Touch-probe measurement combines with Optical measures to provide integrated capabilities.  Efficiency is optimized through the placement of Coordinate–Measuring Machines in line with EDM production, to allow real-time inspection of work.  Redundant equipment within each facility ensures ongoing inspection capabilities; redundancy among facilities provides contingency.

Accreditations

Certified to ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 Revision D Certification to ISO-based standards ISO 9001 and AS9100 (specific to the Aerospace industry) enables Arc Drilling to serve our customers even better through the well-defined and documented processes these certifications require.  While Arc Drilling has always been committed to quality in our products and services, these certifications ensure a more productive environment through faster identification of and planning for quality issues and trends.  In particular, the 2015 version of ISO and the Revision D version of AS9100 have helped us to identify and implement actions to better address specific risks and opportunities.  In 2017 Arc Drilling has been an industry leader by achieving prompt certification to the latest versions of the standards. Arc Drilling, Inc. Receives Nadcap Merit Status for Non-Conventional Machining/EDM Arc Drilling, Inc. has held Nadcap accreditation since 2009. Having demonstrated their ongoing commitment to quality by satisfying customer requirements and industry specifications, the Nadcap Task Group has determined that Arc Drilling, Inc. has earned special recognition. This means that, instead of having their next Nadcap audit in twelve months, Arc Drilling, Inc. has been granted an accreditation that lasts twenty-four months.  This status was first awarded to the Cleveland-area facility in 2015, and has been achieved in 2017 for the Charleston facility. To be eligible for a 24 month accreditation, each Arc Drilling facility satisfied exacting criteria, including two previous accreditations for a minimum of 18 months each (also a meritorious status); no Major or repeated findings identified on the current or previous audit; no Product or Special Process escapes during the current or previous audit; and others. Customer-Authorized for Self-Release In addition to the above accreditations, a number of discerning customers have awarded Arc Drilling with authorization to self-release product.  Such authorization is typically based on specialized training of key personnel and/or customer audits of our inspection capabilities and Quality Assurance processes.

Corporate objectives

Arc Drilling has an aerospace-accredited Quality Management System that includes setting specific corporate performance targets each year.  These targets are always based on three fundamental principles:
